Highland Games

The Aboyne Highland Games, held on the first Saturday in August, boasts a rich history dating back to the 19th Century. Established in 1867, these games celebrate Scottish culture through traditional events such as caber tossing, tug-of-war, various athletic competitions, including an 11km hill race, highland dancing and piping competitions. Over the years, the games have become a cherished community event, attracting competitors and spectators from around the world.
