Schools

Education is provided in Aboyne from 3 years of age (Nursery classes) to 11 at the Primary School, and then from 12 -18 at the adjacent Academy. Built in 1974 the current Academy buildings were integrated at the outset with the Deeside Community Centre, making it one one of Scotland's early purpose-built community school campuses. Both the Primary School and Academy have active Parent Councils (see respective school websites for minutes), and the Academy has a Parent Forum.

There is an After School Club, a Breakfast Club, and Holiday Club, too.

The Academy has the largest geographical catchment of any secondary school in Aberdeenshire with pupils from eight other 'feeder' primary schools, ranging from Braemar to Torphins.

There is also a pre-school playgroup - Wiggles and Giggles Baby & Toddler Group on Friday mornings.
